It perhaps wasn't very nice to leave you with that last update - relax, I'm fine, I was just pissed off about something (money/bills of course). I'm still sorta pissed off about it, but that's pretty much my default state of being over the last 15 years, so no biggie.
Well, my show has its final two performances this weekend (Friday & Saturday - fucking COME you bastards - www.pagsk.org); word-of-mouth seems to be helping a lot, as each performance has had more paid customers than the previous one. We're getting really good notices - in fact I had a couple people tell me that they liked our show better than the Seattle Repertory Theatre's performance of the same show last year. We're f00kin good at it, that's why.
Having a mondo fast linux box at my disposal is pure love. I've finally gotten the box to the point where most of the stupid extra crap Red Hat loads onto it is gone (and dealing with RH's utter lack of a decent package manager drove me nuts) and it's humming along like a cheetah waiting for a big meaty wildebeest to happen by so it can CHASE DOWN, KILL, AND EAT IT RAW. I imported 2300 TIF format images into our web application just now and it was barely ticking over - just like 14% processor usage. There's 135GB of RAID 0/1 storage available, with a 1.5GHz processor and 512MB of DDR memory. Love, like I said.
