Perhaps I was wrong about the weather - it's almost totally clear and feels like it's above 70 already.

People suck. A group of grizzlies, subjects of a long-term study on Russia's Kamchatka peninsula by a pair of Canadian researchers, have apparently been slaughtered. The poachers nailed a bear cub's gall bladder to the wall of the researcher's cabin, evidently as a taunt.
