Las Vegas is dead to me. Did you know they've passed an anti-smoking law in Nevada, nearly as fucking draconian as Washington's? You can only smoke outdoors or on a casino floor. No more smoking as you wander the hotel, trying to keep your feet as you wander drunk and broke towards your room, or what you thought you remembered as your room, but is actually that of two middle-aged Iowans in town for a bridal photographers convention. The whole point of Las Vegas is that you can do what you fucking want. If I wanted that sort of treatment, I'd just stay here and drive 30 minutes up to the Clearwater. Bloody fuck.
Anyway, Dave was fucking awesome as always; he played "I'll Back You Up" which I've never seen live, and a really great "Jimi Thing", and "Sister" again which I love. Also, two vodka sodas at the MGM Grand Garden cost me $32, which is excessive even for Vegas.
We spent some time at the Beatles Revolution Lounge, which was kick-ass, especially once we saw that they had the balls to charge, I shit you not, $1400 for a liter of Patron tequila. That was actually just in the middle range of alcohol prices. They had a $25000 bottle of Johnnie Walker. Plus, if you buy one, they have an automatic 20% gratuity, apparently because it's hard for that blonde waitress to walk 15 feet back and forth to bring it to you. That fucking bitch blonde waitress who wanted to know if it would be cash or charge before we even ordered anything.
Am I giving you the impression I did not have fun? If so, I apologize because that is very much the opposite of the truth. I had a god damn blast. Blackjack was good to me and I'm never touching a slot machine again.

Planet Earth on Discovery is the most amazing thing ever shown on TV. I mean, Beavis & Butthead, The Cosby Show, Space Ghost, none even come close. The scenes of the great white strikes on seals, the hunting dog pack tracking and strategizing to bring down an antelope, I just can't even describe how incredible it is. You have to just watch it.
Bonus patronizing comment: if you can't watch it in HD, watch it anyway. But OMG are you missing out.
