If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?
We went to Swedish Hospital's cancer unit today to have a consult with Dr. Jack West, who's apparently a big lung cancer honcho over there. He looks like he's my age. Anyway, he pretty much confirmed that Dr. Winter is doing the right things and that it appears I'm responding well to the treatment. All good news. He wants to continue chemo on a regular schedule for the next 6 weeks and then take some more scans, and then decide whether to do some radiation or possibly a surgical procedure or two. Depends on how much of my chest is affected. I guess the main problem at this point is that the scans they've already done have been hard to read because of where the tumor is at as well as where the infections I've had have been. Murky pictures mean they're going to need to get some better ones before they can decide exactly what to do.
Anyway, good trip today. I felt good, we got to ride the boat both ways in decent weather, hooked up with Bill on the way back. Swedish is a nice place. The doc was a nice guy. Nice nice nice.
I was so hoping to play disc golf today, but it doesn't look like the weather is cooperating.
